Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is simple. Teaching at its best to encourage informed learning at all levels in ophthalmology, especially paediatric ophthalmology.

Teaching is a passion for many clinicians as is the intrinsic motivation for learning in all of us. There are times during our long careers where we need to take time out to learn, question, reflect and refresh our minds.

Eyelearn courses help you do this. We invite you to come and participate.

Our vision for Eyelearn is to deliver inspiring courses in medical education in partnership with learners encouraging a commitment to lifelong learning.

Our mission is to impart knowledge in a manner that encourages the learner to understand, analyze, evaluate and remember the knowledge base. We believe that such learning processes enable clinicians to deliver informed and effective care to their patients.

Our teachers are from different backgrounds united by a common purpose - the commitment to contribute to the learning process for now and for our future. We believe that effective teaching inspires the learners of today to become the teachers of tomorrow.

Our learners are from different backgrounds within ophthalmology, paediatrics; anaesthesia; nursing and allied professions indicating the inclusive ethos of Eyelearn. All are motivated by a desire to learn in a friendly encouraging and enabling environment. Our learners have helped us design even better courses and as the ultimate accolade some of them are now within our group of teachers.

I keep six honest serving-men. They taught me all I knew. Their names are What and Why and When and How and Where and Who.
Rudyard Kipling
