Making Sense of Strabismus: 8th, 9th and 10th March 2010
Introduction
This three-day course provides a detailed insight into assessment and management of basic childhood and adult strabismus. You will be introduced to a logical step-by-step approach enabling you to make sense of strabismic deviations and arriving at appropriate management decisions. Interactive, small group based practical transfer of skills sessions will equip you with the necessary skills for carrying out motor and sensory tests and analyzing the results. Surgical procedures will be shown with animation and video demonstrations. Systematic reviews of present literature of management of common deviations will be discussed providing you with informed decision making capabilities.
This course is suitable for all trainees in ophthalmology, orthoptics and optometry. It may also be useful for ophthalmologists with an interest in strabismus as a comprehensive update.

Making Sense of Strabismus: Advanced Skills: date to be announced
Introduction
This two-day course covers all aspects of complicated strabismus and will comprise combined horizontal and vertical deviations; comprehensive management of thyroid eye disease; application of Botulinum toxin in strabismus. The emphasis will be on case based discussions and personal experiences in an informal symposium style. Systematic reviews of recent advancements in the field of adult and childhood strabismus will be discussed. Uncommon surgical procedures will be detailed by some of the leading strabismus surgeons.
This course is suitable for strabismologists and paediatric ophthalmologists; those who have attended the Basic Skills course (see Making Sense of Strabismus Basic Skills Course)
