Ophthalmology for GPs - Taking the fear out of ophthalmology

Ophthalmology for GPs: 28th and 29th June 2010: the fourth annual course: Liverpool

2-day course covering common paediatric and adult eye problems

Ophthalmology for most general practitioners is an area that has not been taught well, if at all, in medical school. When entering General Practice, most trainees and fully qualified GPs find eyes a difficult subject. Without having been trained in the basics of approaching eye problems in their early training it becomes a feared subject.

We aim in this 2-day course for you to leave confident in assessing and diagnosing the common eye conditions, spotting the emergencies, knowing who to refer and how urgently and most importantly, taking the “fear” out of ophthalmology.

We have run a successful course for general practitioners for the last three years (see evaluation and testimonials below). Each year we have designed the course with increasing participation from GPs. For the fourth course this year (Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th June) we have GPs from last year helping us design the course.
