Childhood Retinal Dystrophies and Visual Electrophysiology

Childhood Retinal Dystrophies and Visual Electrophysiology: a seminar: date to be announced

Introduction

This one-day meeting is the first seminar being organized to honour Dr Malcolm Brown. Ph.D. who retired this year. Instead of a rocking chair, newspaper and pipe, Malcolm continues to contribute within this field bringing his extensive experience and expertise for which we in the Liverpool and surrounding areas are grateful. A special Dr Malcolm Brown lecture will be the highlight of this seminar. The seminar will detail a symptom-based, examination-oriented differential approach to childhood retinal dystrophies and visual electrophysiology starting with the basics enabling the clinician to achieve a diagnosis in this difficult area of childhood visual disorders. Recent applications of multifocal ERG; steady state VEP will be discussed. Case based presentations will highlight the spectrum of presentation. Advances in genetic diagnosis will be presented.

This seminar is suitable for ophthalmologists of all grades; electrophysiologists; orthoptists and optometrists.
